Soap Making

All our soap is made with 100% olive oil from our farm or from our neighbouring village in Central Portugal. This is then blended with lye and water to make the bars of natural soap.

Olive oil has been used for centuries to moisturize and gently cleanse the skin. Its antioxidant properties are legendary for nourishing skin and fighting the signs of aging. Each soap we make has a slightly different characteristic; this has to do with the ingredients we use. Once the soap has been blended and is about to be poured into the moulds, various infusions (all natural) are added making each range of soap unique, catering for different skin types.  Some examples of these are Green Clay, Oatmeal and Calendula.   The soaps are then cured for a minimum of one month to give a good hard bar of soap with lather.

All our soaps can be used on your face and entire body.

A new addition to our soap range is our Shampoo Bar.  These bars are made with natural ingredients including Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Castor Oil.  These rich creamy bars are good for all hair types.

At Arte Amanha we enjoy passing on our knowledge and hold regular workshops (click here for details of soap workshops)
